New Delhi | February 16, 2026: Info Edge Founder and Executive Vice Chairman Sanjeev Bikhchandani said artificial intelligence is not taking away jobs. He said AI is mainly improving productivity and efficiency.
Bikhchandani made these remarks at the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. He spoke during the session titled “Future of Employability and AI.”
AI Helps Companies Do More Without Hiring More
Bikhchandani said companies use AI to serve customers more efficiently. He explained that many businesses avoid small clients because they pay less.
Companies often find it costly to assign staff for thousands of low-paying customers. However, AI voice bots can now handle this work easily.
He said AI helps companies reach an underserved market segment. This also allows businesses to expand without increasing headcount.
AI Voice Bots Now Sound Like Humans
Bikhchandani said AI-powered voice bots have become extremely advanced. He added that people often cannot tell whether they are speaking to a human or a bot.
He stressed that companies use AI to do work that earlier did not get done. According to him, AI is helping firms deliver better service.
Young Professionals Must Learn AI Tools
Bikhchandani advised young professionals to focus on practical AI skills. He said they do not need to build large language models.
Instead, he urged them to learn 5 to 15 useful AI tools. He added that this will increase productivity and improve career growth.
He also said younger employees learn faster than older professionals. That advantage can help them stay ahead in the workplace.
Vineet Nayyar Shares His View on AI and Jobs
Former HCL Technologies CEO Vineet Nayyar also spoke during the session. He said AI will impact around 50% of jobs.
At the same time, he said AI will also create new employment opportunities. He believes the job market will evolve instead of shrinking.
