Prayagraj, February 26, 2026: Ashutosh Brahmachari has made fresh allegations against religious leader Swami Avimukteshwaranand in an ongoing misconduct case. The development follows a court order directing police to register an FIR and begin an investigation.
Brahmachari Raises Serious Claims
Ashutosh Brahmachari addressed the media in Prayagraj on Wednesday. He claimed that the alleged misconduct involved several people linked to the ashram. According to him, senior functionaries and influential individuals played a role in the matter.
He named Prakash Upadhyay, Balmukundanand, and Arvind during his statement. Brahmachari also alleged indirect support from a Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He further questioned the seer’s religious credentials and mentioned possible foreign funding links.
Prayagraj Court Orders FIR
A Special POCSO Court in Prayagraj ordered police to register an FIR against Swami Avimukteshwaranand and others. The court directed officials to conduct a fair and independent investigation.
Authorities must protect the identity and dignity of the victims during the process. Police registered the FIR at Jhunsi Police Station after receiving court instructions.
Swami Avimukteshwaranand Denies Charges
Swami Avimukteshwaranand rejected all allegations. He stated that the accusations aim to damage his reputation and target Sanatan Dharma.
Allegations Linked to Religious Premises
Brahmachari claimed that some incidents occurred at religious locations, including Vidyamath in Narsinghpur, Madhya Pradesh. He also accused certain ashram office-bearers of involvement.
Officials have not received responses from other individuals named in the allegations so far.
Investigation Continues
Police have started the investigation following court directions. Authorities confirmed that they will follow legal procedures while maintaining confidentiality.
