Bihar Election Key Candidates Results LIVE:
The Election Commission started counting votes for the 2025 Bihar assembly polls this morning. This election is a major contest between JD(U), led by Nitish Kumar, and the RJD under Tejashwi Yadav. Bihar voted in two phases on November 6 and 11. Both phases saw record-breaking voter turnout, the highest in the state’s history.
The main fight is between Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav. Nitish Kumar, the current JD(U) leader, hopes to secure his tenth term as chief minister. However, the NDA has not officially announced him as their CM face.
On the other hand, Tejashwi Yadav aims to become chief minister for the first time and defeat the Nitish-led government.
In the 2020 assembly elections, the NDA — powered by the BJP and JD(U) — won 125 seats, only slightly above the majority mark of 122. This year, the NDA is contesting with support from HAM and several other partners, hoping for another term.
Meanwhile, the RJD-Congress-led Mahagathbandhan, guided by Tejashwi Yadav, seeks to replace the long-serving chief minister. The alliance is relying on anti-incumbency and promises of change.
