Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh | February 16, 2026: Microsoft co-founder and Gates Foundation Chair Bill Gates arrived in Amaravati on Sunday. He will attend the AI-India Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi.
Andhra Pradesh Minister and TDP leader Nara Lokesh welcomed Gates at Gannavaram Airport. The minister also expressed optimism about future partnerships between Andhra Pradesh and the Gates Foundation.
Talks Held on Health, Agriculture, and Education
After the airport reception, Lokesh and his team moved to the Secretariat for discussions. The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration in key development sectors.
The Andhra Pradesh government wants to work with the Gates Foundation in:

- Technology-driven governance
According to Lokesh, the goal is to create scalable and impactful solutions for the people of the state.
Gates to Attend Global AI Summit in Delhi
Bill Gates will attend the AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled from February 16 to February 20 in New Delhi. Global leaders, policymakers, and technology experts will join the summit.
Several top innovators from Silicon Valley and other major tech hubs are also expected to participate.
PM Modi to Inaugurate AI Impact Expo 2026
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the India AI Impact Expo 2026 at Bharat Mandapam today. Ahead of the summit, the Prime Minister welcomed delegates arriving in India.
In his message, he highlighted India’s rapid progress in science and technology. He also said the summit reflects the strength and capability of India’s youth.
India Promotes Responsible and Inclusive AI
India is hosting the summit as the first major international AI event in the Global South. The event will showcase India’s vision for AI that remains inclusive, responsible, and impactful.
