New Delhi, February 18:
Canada’s Minister for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation, Evan Solomon, will participate in the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, the High Commission of Canada in India confirmed on Wednesday.
In a series of posts on X, the High Commission stated that Canada aims to strengthen its AI partnership with India. Additionally, the visit will focus on expanding cooperation in emerging technologies.
Canada Strengthens AI and Emerging Tech Collaboration
The High Commission said Minister Solomon will visit India from February 18 to February 21. During this time, he will meet senior Indian officials and engage with global leaders attending the summit.
Moreover, Canada plans to build practical partnerships in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. As a result, the visit may create new opportunities for Canadian companies and attract investment.
India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam
India is hosting the India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The summit began on February 16 and will continue until February 20, 2026.
Notably, this is the first global AI summit of this scale to take place in the Global South. Therefore, the event aims to amplify under-represented voices and development priorities.
Participation from Over 110 Countries
The summit has participation from more than 110 countries and 30 international organisations. In addition, around 20 Heads of State and Government and nearly 45 ministers are expected to take part.
Meanwhile, the summit continues to strengthen global cooperation on AI governance, safety, and societal impact.

Three foundational pillars guide the summit:
- People – to promote human-centric AI and protect rights
- Planet – to support environmentally sustainable AI development
- Progress – to ensure inclusive economic and technological growth
Overall, the summit reflects India’s national vision of “Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhaye” (welfare for all, happiness for all) and the global principle of AI for Humanity.
