New Delhi, March 20: Devotees across India gathered in large numbers at major temples on the second day of Chaitra Navratri, offering prayers and seeking blessings from Goddess Durga.
Temples such as Jhandewalan Temple and Chhatarpur Temple in Delhi witnessed heavy footfall as devotees participated in rituals and aarti. In Gujarat, the famous Ambaji Temple also saw thousands of devotees gathering to celebrate the auspicious occasion.
Spiritual Atmosphere Across Temples
The atmosphere at temples remained vibrant and devotional, with the sound of bells and hymns filling the air. Devotees performed aarti and offered prayers as part of the nine-day festival dedicated to Goddess Durga.
In Uttarakhand, devotees visited the sacred Maya Devi Temple in Haridwar to seek blessings.
A devotee shared, “We feel very peaceful here. People come from across India, and the experience is truly divine.” Another devotee extended Navratri greetings and prayed for happiness and prosperity for everyone.

Significance of Chaitra Navratri
Chaitra Navratri marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year and holds immense religious importance. During these nine days, devotees worship the nine forms of Goddess Durga, observe fasts, and perform rituals for health, prosperity, and well-being.

President Murmu Visits Ayodhya
On the first day of Navratri, President Droupadi Murmu visited Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya. She offered prayers and performed aarti at the temple complex.
The President described her visit as a blessed moment and highlighted the cultural and historical importance of the temple. She also mentioned that key events like the Bhoomi Pujan and Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla are golden milestones in India’s heritage.
Nationwide Celebrations Continue
Chaitra Navratri will conclude with Ram Navami, celebrating the birth of Lord Ram. Across the country, temples continue to witness large gatherings, with special prayers, jagrans, and cultural programs being organised.
