Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has assured that the state government is making extensive preparations to ensure a safe, smooth, and well-organized Char Dham Yatra 2026 for devotees.
In a recent post on the social media platform X, the Chief Minister emphasized that all arrangements are being strengthened ahead of the yatra, which is scheduled to begin on April 19, 2026.
🛕 Char Dham Yatra 2026 Dates & Schedule
The sacred pilgrimage across Uttarakhand will follow this opening schedule:
- April 19, 2026 – Opening of Yamunotri Temple & Gangotri Temple
- April 22, 2026 – Opening of Kedarnath Temple
- April 23, 2026 – Opening of Badrinath Temple
Lakhs of devotees from across India and abroad are expected to participate in this spiritually significant journey.

CM Dhami stated that the government is prioritizing:
- Enhanced security arrangements
- Improved transport & road connectivity
- Better medical and emergency services
- Crowd management and digital monitoring systems

The Char Dham Yatra is one of the most sacred pilgrimages in Hinduism, covering four holy shrines:
- Yamunotri Temple
- Gangotri Temple
- Kedarnath Temple
- Badrinath Temple
Pilgrims traditionally follow a clockwise route, starting from Yamunotri, then Gangotri, Kedarnath, and concluding at Badrinath.
