New Delhi | January 29 :
The Indian senior women’s football team will play four additional friendly matches against European clubs during its ongoing preparatory camp in Türkiye, according to the All India Football Federation website.
As part of their build-up to the AFC Women’s Asian Cup, these matches will help the team gain valuable international exposure.
Four European Friendlies Scheduled
During the Türkiye camp, the Blue Tigresses will face strong opponents from Russia, Germany, and Romania. Notably, these fixtures are expected to test the squad’s tactical readiness.
The scheduled matches include:
- January 30: India vs WFC Spartak Moscow (Russia)
- February 2: India vs Hertha BSC Frauen (Germany)
- February 4: India vs Zvezda-2005 Perm (Russia)
- February 7: India vs FK Csikszereda Miercurea Ciuc (Romania)
Earlier Friendly Results
Before these fixtures, the Indian team played two friendly matches earlier in the camp. Initially, India suffered a 0–2 defeat against FC Metalist 1925 on January 18.
However, the team responded positively and secured a 2–1 win over FC Schlieren on January 24.
Next Phase in Australia
Following the Türkiye leg, the Blue Tigresses will travel to Perth, Australia, on February 10. Thereafter, the team will play additional friendly matches to fine-tune preparations.
Asian Cup Campaign Ahead
Meanwhile, India will begin its AFC Women’s Asian Cup campaign against the Vietnam women’s national football team on March 4. Ultimately, these friendlies aim to ensure peak readiness for the continental tournament.
