Tehran, March 25, 2026 — Iran escalated tensions in West Asia on Wednesday. The country launched the 80th wave of Operation True Promise 4, targeting US-Israeli positions. At the same time, former US President Donald Trump claimed that both sides are moving toward a possible deal.
Iran Expands Military Action
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) released footage of the latest strikes. The military targeted key locations across Israeli-controlled areas.
Earlier, Wave 79 hit intelligence centers in Tel Aviv and military sites in Beersheba and the Negev region. The IRGC confirmed that its missiles penetrated Israel’s air defense systems.
The operation used:
- Kheibar Shekan missiles
- Emad missiles
- Sejjil missiles
- Combat drones
As a result, several strategic targets suffered damage.
Trump Points to Ongoing Negotiations
Meanwhile, Donald Trump indicated that talks with Iran are already in progress. He suggested that both sides want to reach an agreement soon.
He said:
“We’re in negotiations right now… I think we are going to end it.”
However, he also claimed that Iran’s military capabilities have weakened significantly. These claims remain unverified.
Iran Defends Its Position at the UN
At the United Nations Conference on Disarmament, Iran’s deputy envoy Reza Dehghani defended the strikes. He stated that Iran is exercising its right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter.
Furthermore, he emphasized three key points:
- Iran is targeting only military sites
- The country has no hostility toward neighbors
- Nations supporting attacks against Iran will face consequences
He also accused US and Israeli forces of targeting civilians. According to him, innocent lives continue to be lost.
