New Delhi, February 23:
Israel’s Ambassador to India Reuven Azar said India and Israel share a strong and trusted partnership. His remarks came ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Israel on February 25–26.
The Israeli Embassy in India released a video welcoming the visit. The embassy described bilateral ties as a partnership driven by innovation and mutual trust.
Azar said both nations will strengthen cooperation in defence and security. He added that India and Israel plan to update security agreements. The move will support joint development of advanced technologies.
Focus on Technology and Trade
The envoy highlighted growing economic cooperation between the two countries. He said both sides aim to finalise a free trade agreement soon.
He also stressed collaboration in artificial intelligence, quantum technology and cybersecurity. Israel expects greater participation from Indian infrastructure companies in future projects.
Azar added that discussions will cover transportation, water management, agriculture and academic cooperation.
Netanyahu Calls Visit Important
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier described the visit as a reflection of strong relations between the two countries. He said both leaders maintain close communication and cooperation.
During the visit, PM Modi will address the Knesset. He will also attend an innovation event in Jerusalem. The leaders are expected to visit Yad Vashem.
The visit aims to expand cooperation in technology, defence and trade between India and Israel.
