Chamoli, March 13: The Uttarakhand government will open a new language training centre in Almora. The centre will help students learn foreign languages and find jobs abroad.
The initiative is part of the Chief Minister’s Skill Upgradation and Global Employment Scheme. The scheme aims to improve youth skills and connect them with international job opportunities.
Second Language Training Centre in the State
The state launched this scheme in 2023. Soon after, the government opened the first language training centre in Dehradun.
Students at the Dehradun centre learn several foreign languages. The centre also helps them apply for jobs in other countries.
Now the government plans to expand the programme. Therefore, it will open the second centre in Almora.
Government Focus on Youth Employment
The programme operates under the leadership of Pushkar Singh Dhami. He has instructed officials to expand training facilities across the state.
During the Assembly budget session, Saurabh Bahuguna announced the new centre. He said the initiative will help more students gain international career opportunities.
Budget Increased for Skill Training
The government has increased the training budget to strengthen the programme. Earlier, the scheme had a budget of ₹75 lakh. Now the government has raised it to ₹3.3 crore.
According to Bahuguna, the increased budget will help more students receive training and guidance.
Monitoring Safety of Workers Abroad
Meanwhile, the government continues to monitor people working abroad through this scheme. Officials remain in contact with workers in Saudi Arabia.
Bahuguna informed the Assembly that all workers are safe.
Uttarakhand Recognised for Financial Management
During the Assembly session in Gairsain, Chief Minister Dhami highlighted the state’s financial achievements.
The Fiscal Health Index 2026, released by NITI Aayog, praised Uttarakhand’s financial management.
The report placed Uttarakhand second among the North-Eastern and Himalayan states.
Boost for Youth and Global Employment
The new training centre will benefit students from Almora and nearby districts. They will learn foreign languages and improve their career prospects.
