Market Close: Nifty Above 26,000, Sensex Gains 388 Points
Indian benchmark indices ended higher on November 17, supported by broad-based buying across sectors. The Nifty settled above the 26,000 mark, while the Sensex posted healthy gains.
Major Gainers and Losers on Nifty
Several large-cap stocks supported the rally.
Top gainers included Bajaj Auto, Tata Consumer, Eicher Motors, Max Healthcare, and Maruti Suzuki.
On the other hand, TMPV, Adani Enterprises, Jio Financial, Interglobe Aviation, and UltraTech Cement ended in the red.
Sectoral Indices End in Green
All sectoral indices closed positive.
Notably, auto, banking, realty, capital goods, consumer durables, and PSU banks gained 0.5% to 1%.
Furthermore, the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices rose 0.6% each, showing broad market strength.
Sensex and Nifty Performance
At the closing bell:
- Sensex jumped 388.17 points (0.46%) to 84,950.95.
- Nifty 50 rose 103.40 points (0.40%) to 26,013.45.
Market breadth was mixed with 1,862 advancing, 2,068 declining, and 155 unchanged stocks.
