Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir), January 12:
Security forces spotted several drones suspected to be from Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Naushera–Rajouri sector late Sunday night, Defence Sources said.
Immediately, Indian Army troops responded using counter-unmanned aerial system measures. As a result, the drones were forced to retreat across the LoC.
Defence Sources stated, “Indian Army troops detected a few Pakistan Army drones along the Line of Control in the Naushera–Rajouri sector. They activated counter-drone measures and forced them to return.”
Security Tightened Along the Border
Meanwhile, authorities have increased surveillance along the border. Security forces remain on high alert in the sensitive Rajouri sector.
Additionally, troops continue to monitor the area to prevent possible infiltration or arms smuggling.
Arms Cache Recovered in Samba District
Earlier on Saturday, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a joint search operation in Paloora village of Samba district.
During the operation, security forces recovered arms and ammunition from the border area. The seized items included:
- A made-in-China 9mm pistol with two magazines
- A Glock 9mm pistol with one magazine
- A Chinese hand grenade marked SPL HGR 84
- Sixteen 9mm live cartridges
Following the recovery, police began an investigation to trace the source of the consignment.
