A Special G20 Summit in Africa
Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for Johannesburg, South Africa, on Friday to attend the G20 Summit.
He called the event a “special summit” because it is the first G20 Leaders’ Summit on African soil.
During India’s G20 Presidency in 2023, the African Union joined the G20 as a permanent member.
PM Modi’s Message Before Departure
In a post on X, PM Modi said he will attend the summit in Johannesburg and discuss several global issues.
He also said he will meet many world leaders during the event.
Focus on Global Challenges
PM Modi said the summit offers a strong platform to discuss global challenges.
This year’s theme is “Solidarity, Equality and Sustainability.”
South Africa continued the priorities set in New Delhi and Rio de Janeiro.
The Prime Minister said he will share India’s views based on the vision of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” and “One Earth, One Family, One Future.”
Interaction With Indian Diaspora
PM Modi expressed excitement about meeting the Indian diaspora in South Africa.
He described the community as one of the largest and most vibrant groups of Indian-origin people outside India.
IBSA Summit Participation
On the sidelines of the G20 Summit, PM Modi will attend the 6th IBSA Summit.
Leaders of India, Brazil, and South Africa will review cooperation and explore ways to deepen their partnership.
Bilateral Meetings With World Leaders
PM Modi will also hold several bilateral meetings.
These discussions aim to strengthen India’s global ties and support multilateral cooperation.

Official Visit Schedule
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi will be in Johannesburg from November 21 to 23.
He will attend the 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit hosted by South Africa.

PM Modi will present India’s views in all three sessions of the summit.
The MEA said he will highlight India’s stand on key global matters.
Bilateral and IBSA Meetings
The Prime Minister will also hold bilateral meetings with several leaders.
He will participate in the India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) Leaders’ Meeting hosted by South Africa.
