Dehradun, March 15: Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the main goal of the Bharatiya Janata Party is to secure a third consecutive term in the Uttarakhand government in the 2027 Assembly elections.
The Chief Minister made the statement after attending a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) State Workshop in Dehradun on Sunday.
BJP Focuses on Strengthening Booth-Level Organisation
Dhami said the party plans to strengthen its organisational structure at the booth level. He stressed that every party representative and official must actively contribute through feedback and grassroots work.
According to Dhami, the BJP will expand its outreach to every section of society. The party wants to connect directly with people across villages, towns, and cities.
He said the organisation will work closely with government initiatives to improve public engagement.
Strategy for 2027 Assembly Elections
The Chief Minister explained that the party has already started preparing for the 2027 Uttarakhand Assembly elections. The focus will remain on discipline, dedication, and strengthening the party network.
Dhami said the BJP believes public trust and effective governance will help the party return to power again.
He added that the government aims to extend development and welfare schemes to the most remote parts of the state.
Election Commission Announces Poll Schedule for Five States
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for upcoming assembly elections in five states and union territories.
Polling will take place in Kerala, Assam, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Puducherry.
Voting in Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry will be held in a single phase on April 9.
Tamil Nadu will also vote in one phase on April 23.
West Bengal will conduct elections in two phases. The first phase will take place on April 23, while the second phase will be held on April 29.
The counting of votes for all states and the union territory will take place on May 4.
Election Commission Urges First-Time Voters to Participate
Gyanesh Kumar described the upcoming elections as a “festival of democracy.” He encouraged young and first-time voters to participate actively.
He urged voters to exercise their democratic rights with responsibility and pride.
According to the Chief Election Commissioner, the participation of youth will play a key role in shaping the future of their states and the nation.
