New Delhi, February 5:
Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi met H.S. Sarna on Wednesday. Sarna is the former President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) and Patna Sahib Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee.
During the meeting, Sarna raised concerns about alleged corruption and irregularities. In addition, he said these issues are affecting DSGMC and its educational institutions. Sarna also requested Rahul Gandhi to raise the matter in Parliament.
Rahul Gandhi took note of the concerns. Therefore, he assured that he would push for justice and transparency.
Delhi Congress Confirms the Meeting
Delhi Congress shared details of the meeting on X. According to the party, Sarna requested Rahul Gandhi to highlight the issue in Parliament. The post also stated that Rahul Gandhi promised transparency and justice.
Additionally, Delhi Congress In-charge Qazi Nizamuddin and Delhi Congress President Devendra Yadav attended the meeting.
Opposition Parties to Hold Strategy Meeting
Meanwhile, sources said opposition parties will hold a meeting on Thursday morning. They will discuss strategy for the ongoing parliamentary session. The meeting will take place at 10 AM in Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge’s room.
Parliament Disruptions Continue
The Parliament session has seen repeated disruptions. This happened after Rahul Gandhi referred to former Army Chief General MM Naravane’s unpublished memoir. The reference was linked to the 2020 China standoff in eastern Ladakh.
However, BJP leaders objected to the remarks. They said the comments violated House rules and could affect the morale of the armed forces.
Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of avoiding Parliament. On the other hand, he said the Prime Minister does not want to face questions on national security.
PM Modi was expected to reply to the motion of thanks in the Lok Sabha. But, the House was adjourned due to repeated disruptions.
