Rohtak Royals marched confidently into the final of the inaugural Kabaddi Champions League (KCL) after defeating Panipat Panthers 43-36 in the second semi-final at the Sports University of Haryana, Sonepat.
According to an official release, Vijay Malik delivered a clutch performance in the final moments of the match and finished as Rohtak’s top scorer with 12 points.
Vijay Malik Shines in the Closing Minutes
Rohtak Royals were under pressure late in the contest. However, star raider Vijay Malik stepped up at the right time and ensured his team avoided an All-Out.
His late raids helped Rohtak maintain control and seal a thrilling win.
Rakesh Singroha, Sandeep and Milan Dahiya Also Impress
Apart from Malik, Rakesh Singroha played a major role with 11 points. Meanwhile, Milan Dahiya and Sandeep added four points each.
Sandeep was also named the Best Defender of the Match for his solid performance.
Rohtak Royals to Face Bhiwani Bulls in Final
With this win, Rohtak Royals will now face Bhiwani Bulls in the final scheduled for tomorrow.
Earlier, Bhiwani Bulls reached the final after defeating Hisar Heroes in the first semi-final.
Rohtak Royals Take Early Control
Rohtak started strongly and scored the first points in the opening minute. The early phase was closely contested, and by the seventh minute, Panipat led 5-4.
However, Rohtak soon regained control. By the 10th minute, the Royals were leading 7-5.
Super Raid and First All-Out Give Royals a Strong Lead
Rakesh Singroha produced the first Super Raid of the match by pinning down three opponents in one raid. This pushed Rohtak’s lead to 12-7 by the 13th minute.
Soon after, Rohtak inflicted the first All-Out of the game in the 15th minute. The score then moved to 16-10 in their favour.
Royals Lead 21-15 at Half-Time
Rohtak continued to dominate and maintained their momentum. At the end of the first half, they led 21-15.
Rakesh Singroha was the top scorer in the first half with 7 points.
Panipat Fights Back But Rohtak Holds Firm
In the second half, Rohtak began well again with back-to-back points. However, Panipat’s Meetu brought his team back into the match with a Super Raid.
This reduced the gap to 23-19 in the 24th minute.
Despite the comeback attempt, Rohtak kept their grip on the match. Another All-Out increased their advantage, taking the score to 35-26 with eight minutes remaining.
Late Drama Before Royals Seal Victory
Panipat kept pushing in the final minutes. A few unforced errors from Rohtak reduced the lead to six points with three minutes remaining.
The match became tense when Panipat further cut the margin to four points with two minutes left. Rohtak were close to being All-Out.
However, Vijay Malik produced crucial raids in the dying moments and sealed the win for Rohtak Royals.
