Broader Market Performance
Indian equity indices ended the session on a strong note on November 20. Meanwhile, the Nifty closed near 26,200, and the Sensex gained 440 points. However, broader indices underperformed. The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices ended the day on a flat note.

On the sectoral front, auto, capital goods, oil & gas, private bank and energy stocks gained 0.3–0.6%.
In contrast, consumer durables, media and PSU bank stocks declined 0.3–1%.

Eicher Motors, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank were the major gainers on the Nifty.
On the other hand, Asian Paints, HCL Technologies, Titan Company, HUL and Sun Pharma ended as the top losers.

The Nifty Bank index is already at record levels and is preparing for a possible move toward the 60,000 mark.
However, it saw volatility. After hitting a new high, it slipped 20 points into the red.
