Makthal BJP candidate death raised political tension
Meanwhile, political tension increased after the death of BJP candidate Erukali Mahadev, who was contesting in Makthal municipality in Mahabubnagar district.
Mahadev died by suicide on February 10, which was the last day of campaigning. His family alleged that he was under severe mental stress due to sustained harassment.
They further claimed that political opponents and local leaders repeatedly intimidated him after his nomination was filed. As a result, he was unable to handle the pressure.

Following the incident, the Telangana BJP strongly condemned what it called “blatant intimidation” by the ruling Congress.
The party demanded action and raised concerns over the political environment during the elections.
