Washington DC, March 13: Donald Trump said the situation involving Iran is progressing “very rapidly” and praised the strength of the United States Armed Forces amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
Speaking during a Women’s History Month event at the White House, Trump said American forces were performing strongly and suggested that the current military actions were addressing long-standing tensions with Iran.
“The situation with Iran is moving along very rapidly. It’s doing very well. Our military is unsurpassed. There’s never been anything like it,” Trump said during the event.
Trump Says US Is Addressing Long-Standing Issues With Iran
The US president also argued that the current actions should have been taken decades earlier.
Trump said the United States is now doing what previous administrations failed to do over the past 47 years, while accusing the Iranian leadership of supporting terrorism.
He added that Iran is “paying a big price right now” as tensions continue to escalate between the two countries.
US Military Strength Highlighted
Trump also reflected on his earlier presidency, claiming that his administration significantly strengthened the US military.
According to Trump, the rebuilding of military capabilities during his first term is one of the reasons the United States is able to respond strongly to international crises today.
“I never thought I’d have to be using it so much,” he said, referring to the increased role of the military in addressing global developments involving Iran and Venezuela.
Focus on Preventing Iran From Getting Nuclear Weapons
Earlier, Trump clarified that his administration’s primary objective in the conflict with Iran is to stop Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
The US president acknowledged that rising oil prices could benefit the United States as the world’s largest oil producer. However, he emphasized that his main priority is preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
Trump stated that stopping Iran’s nuclear ambitions is critical to protect the Middle East and global security.
Rising Tensions in West Asia
The remarks come amid rising tensions in West Asia following joint US-Israeli military operations targeting Iranian assets. The conflict has disrupted shipping routes in the Gulf region and created instability in global energy markets.
Iran has also carried out retaliatory strikes targeting US and Israeli assets in several Gulf countries, increasing fears of a wider regional conflict.
Analysts warn that continued escalation could affect global oil supplies, international shipping routes, and geopolitical stability in the Middle East.
