PM Highlights Courage and Righteousness

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid tribute to the Sahibzades on the occasion of Veer Baal Diwas. He described the day as a symbol of courage, conviction, and righteousness. He said their sacrifice continues to inspire generations across the nation.
In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister remembered the unwavering faith of Mata Gujri Ji. He also highlighted the timeless teachings of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, which guide people even today.
PM to Attend National Programme
Prime Minister Modi will participate in the national programme marking Veer Baal Diwas at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The event will begin around 12:15 PM. During the programme, the Prime Minister will address the gathering, officials confirmed.
Nationwide Activities to Mark the Day
The Government of India has organised participative programmes across the country to commemorate Veer Baal Diwas. These initiatives aim to educate citizens about the courage and sacrifice of the Sahibzades.
Schools, Anganwadi centres, and Child Care Institutions are hosting storytelling sessions and recitations. In addition, students are taking part in poster-making and essay-writing competitions. Online activities are also underway through the MyGov and MyBharat portals.
Significance of Veer Baal Diwas
Veer Baal Diwas is observed every year on December 26. The day honours the martyrdom of Sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji, the sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Prime Minister Modi announced the observance on January 9, 2022, during the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
Awardees of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar will also attend the national event.
