Global Leaders Condemn Delhi Blast, Extend Support to India
Canada and Guyana Express Condolences
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Guyanese President Irfaan Ali expressed deep sorrow over the tragic Delhi car blast that occurred near the Red Fort on Monday evening.
Prime Minister Carney wrote on X, “I was shocked to hear of the devastating car blast near the Red Fort in Delhi last evening. I offer my deepest condolences to the loved ones of those who were killed and wish a fast recovery to the injured. Canada stands with the people of Delhi and India during this time of mourning.”
Meanwhile, Guyanese President Irfaan Ali said, “On behalf of the Government and people of Guyana, I express solidarity with the Government and people of India following the horrific blast in New Delhi. We stand with Prime Minister @narendramodi and all those affected by this incident.”
Japan and Israel Join in Solidarity
In addition, Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae conveyed her grief, saying, “I am in deep sorrow to learn that many precious lives were lost in the Delhi explosion. On behalf of Japan, I offer heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
Earlier, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar extended his support, stating, “I extend my and Israel’s deepest condolences to the people of India and the families of the innocent victims killed in the blast. Wishing speedy recovery to the wounded. Israel stands with India in its fight against terror.”
Details of the Incident
The explosion took place around 7 PM near the Subhash Marg traffic signal, close to the Red Fort. A slow-moving Hyundai i20 car suddenly exploded, damaging nearby vehicles.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that all possibilities are being explored. Several investigation agencies are working together to determine the cause and motive of the blast.
The Delhi Police have filed a case under Sections 16 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), along with the Explosives Act and relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, at Kotwali Police Station.
PM Modi Assures Strict Action
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow, stating that the incident has “deeply saddened everyone.” He assured citizens that those responsible for the Red Fort blast will face justice soon.
