Dehradun, Uttarakhand | January 6, 2026:
BJP National General Secretary and Uttarakhand in-charge Dushyant Gautam moved the Delhi High Court in connection with the Ankita Bhandari murder case on Monday.
He filed a petition naming 11 individuals and political organisations as respondents. Gautam also requested the court to list the matter for early hearing.
Petition Filed in Delhi High Court
Delhi High Court advocates Simran Barar and Neelmani Guha filed the petition on Gautam’s behalf. The document runs over 250 pages and outlines the allegations in detail.
The respondents include actress Urmila Sanawar, former BJP MLA Suresh Rathore, the Indian National Congress, Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee, PCC president Ganesh Godiyal, the Aam Aadmi Party, Congress spokesperson Alok Sharma, and Mohit Chauhan.
Location Details Mentioned
The petition clearly mentions Gautam’s location during the relevant period. He stayed in New Delhi on September 10, 13, 14, and 15, 2022. On September 16, he travelled to Uttar Pradesh. He returned to New Delhi on September 17 and 18.
On September 19, 2022, Gautam travelled to Odisha. He came back to New Delhi the next day.
Gautam Denies Allegations
Dushyant Gautam denied all allegations. He called them a well-planned criminal conspiracy by political rivals.
He claimed that his opponents created fake audio and video clips. They circulated the clips on social media to damage his image and the BJP’s reputation.
Claims of Political Conspiracy
Gautam alleged that political parties worked together to spread the clips. He named the Congress, AAP, Uttarakhand Kranti Dal, and certain individuals.
According to him, the aim was to disturb public peace and create unrest. He also said the act caused mental harassment of BJP leaders.
Uttarakhand Police Clarification
Earlier, Uttarakhand Police issued a clarification on the Ankita Bhandari murder case. Police denied any involvement of a VIP in the case.
The court has also acknowledged this fact. Police urged people to ignore false information circulating on social media.
