Tel Aviv, February 25, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a ceremonial Guard of Honour after arriving in Tel Aviv, Israel on Wednesday for a two-day State Visit aimed at strengthening the growing India-Israel strategic partnership.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu personally welcomed PM Modi at Ben Gurion Airport along with his wife Sara Netanyahu. The two leaders shared a warm embrace, highlighting the strong personal and diplomatic ties between India and Israel.
Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar was also present during the official reception ceremony.
Visit Focused on Strategic Cooperation
Ahead of his departure, PM Modi described the visit as an important opportunity to deepen the “robust and multifaceted Strategic Partnership” between the two nations.
He stated that discussions with Prime Minister Netanyahu would focus on expanding cooperation across key sectors such as:
- Innovation and Technology
- Defence and Security
- Agriculture and Water Management
- Trade and Investment
- People-to-People Relations
India and Israel have significantly expanded bilateral cooperation in recent years, particularly in technology, defence, and innovation-driven sectors.


Modi to Meet Israeli Leadership
During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will meet Israeli President Isaac Herzog. He is also scheduled to address the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset, becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to do so.
Before the parliamentary address, Modi will hold bilateral talks with Netanyahu to review progress in ongoing cooperation initiatives.
Indian Diaspora Prepares Grand Welcome
Ahead of the Prime Minister’s arrival, Indian community members across Jerusalem organised welcome events. Indian tricolours were displayed across several neighbourhoods, reflecting strong cultural connections between the two countries.
PM Modi said he looks forward to interacting with the Indian diaspora, acknowledging their contribution to strengthening goodwill between India and Israel.
Strengthening India-Israel Relations
President Isaac Herzog also extended a warm welcome message, stating that Israel and its people eagerly await the Prime Minister’s visit.
The State Visit is expected to further enhance diplomatic engagement and reinforce cooperation between the two democratic nations across strategic and economic sectors.
