New Delhi, April 8, 2026:
Abdul Majid Hakeem Ilahi, Representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader in India, stated on Wednesday that the ongoing conflict with the United States was “imposed” on Iran, emphasizing that Tehran never intended to engage in war.
Iran Blames US for Escalation
Speaking to ANI, Ilahi claimed that the United States launched over 10,000 attacks on Iran, targeting military infrastructure such as airbases and missile systems.
He asserted that Iran had no intention of entering into conflict with its neighboring countries and maintained that the aggression originated from the US.
Use of Bases in Arab Countries Alleged
Ilahi further alleged that the US used bases in Arab countries to carry out attacks on Iran.
According to him:
- Iran did not target civilians
- Attacks were limited to US military bases
- Civilian casualties occurred due to strikes launched from regional bases
However, these claims remain unverified by independent sources.
Two-Week Ceasefire Agreement
Meanwhile, Iran and the United States have agreed to a two-week ceasefire, opening the door for diplomatic negotiations.
Ilahi expressed hope that the ceasefire would continue and lead to long-term peace.
Strong Warning to US and Allies
Ilahi issued a strong warning, stating that Iran has become more powerful than before and is prepared to respond decisively if conflict resumes.
He also warned that:
- Attacks on Iranian refineries could disrupt global oil supply
- Closure of the Strait of Hormuz could have severe economic consequences
Criticism of US Statements
Ilahi criticized US President Donald Trump for claiming credit for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
He argued that the Strait has always been under Iran’s control and remained open before the conflict escalated.
Diplomatic Talks to Continue
Looking ahead, both nations are expected to continue discussions based on Iran’s 10-point proposal.
Several countries have reportedly contributed to facilitating the ceasefire, highlighting the importance of international mediation.
The statement reflects Iran’s strong stance amid ongoing tensions while also संकेतिंग a willingness to pursue diplomacy. As ceasefire talks continue, the global community remains focused on whether this temporary pause can evolve into lasting peace.
