The Sansad Khel Mahotsav in Mahabubnagar has officially begun today, bringing together thousands of young athletes from across the region. The large-scale sporting event aims to promote grassroots sports culture and encourage fitness among youth.
Speaking about the initiative, Member of Parliament DK Aruna said the tournament will run from April 9 to April 24. Moreover, it will be conducted at multiple levels, including mandal, constituency, and parliamentary stages.
Sansad Khel Mahotsav in Mahabubnagar to Promote Grassroots Sports
The Sansad Khel Mahotsav in Mahabubnagar will feature four popular sports—Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Cricket, and Volleyball. Initially, competitions will start at the mandal level. Then, winners will move to higher levels, creating a competitive pathway for participants.
According to DK Aruna, around 3,000 teams are expected to take part in the tournament. As a result, the event is set to become one of the largest local sports festivals in the region.
Multi-Level Tournament Structure and Schedule

Each stage of the Sansad Khel Mahotsav in Mahabubnagar will last four days. First, mandal-level matches will take place. After that, selected teams will compete at the constituency level. Finally, top performers will reach the parliamentary level.
The tournament will conclude on April 24 with a grand prize distribution ceremony. Additionally, cultural programs will be organised to celebrate the achievements of the participants.
Inclusivity and Youth Participation Encouraged
The Sansad Khel Mahotsav in Mahabubnagar is open to all individuals between the ages of 16 and 45. Importantly, the event encourages participation from both rural and urban youth.
DK Aruna emphasized that the initiative is not limited to students. Instead, it welcomes anyone interested in sports and fitness. Therefore, it aims to create a more inclusive sporting environment.
