Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon have killed five people, including a journalist, escalating tensions in the region and putting a fragile ceasefire under pressure.

The first strike hit a vehicle in the village of at-Tiri in southern Lebanon, killing two people inside.
Later, another airstrike targeted a nearby building. A journalist was trapped under the rubble and later died from injuries, according to local media reports.

Israel Cites Security Threat
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed carrying out the strikes.
According to the IDF, the targets were linked to the militant group Hezbollah.
Israeli officials stated that two individuals crossed a “Forward Defence Line” in the Saluki area. They reportedly approached Israeli forces and posed an immediate threat.
As a result, the military launched an airstrike to neutralize the situation.
Additionally, the IDF said operations are ongoing to dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure and locate weapons.
Journalist’s Death Sparks Outrage
The death of the journalist has drawn strong criticism.
Paul Morcos, Lebanon’s Information Minister, condemned the attack.
He stated that Israel must be held responsible for the safety of journalists. He also stressed the importance of protecting media freedom during conflicts.
