Patna, March 7: Nishant Kumar, son of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, met senior Janata Dal (United) leaders and young MLAs in Patna on Saturday. The meeting took place at the residence of JD(U) National Working President Sanjay Kumar Jha.
Party leaders confirmed that Nishant Kumar will join JD(U) on Sunday. His entry will mark the beginning of his political journey in Bihar.
Leaders Discuss Party Strategy
Senior JD(U) leaders discussed the party’s future strategy during the meeting. They focused on strengthening the organization in Bihar.
The discussion comes as Nitish Kumar prepares to move to the Centre after filing his Rajya Sabha nomination.
Nitish Kumar submitted his nomination on March 5. The move signals a major political transition in Bihar.

JD(U) Leaders Support Nishant Kumar’s Entry
JD(U) leader Neeraj Kumar said party leaders welcomed the proposal to bring Nishant Kumar into politics.
Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh) and MP Sanjay Kumar Jha suggested the idea during a meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence.
Neeraj Kumar said the party accepted the suggestion with enthusiasm.
“Nishant Kumar accepted the proposal. He will join the party tomorrow. He will also begin a political tour across Bihar,” Neeraj Kumar said.
The party has not yet announced Nishant Kumar’s exact role.
Possible Leadership Role in Future
Nishant Kumar has lived a low-profile life so far. He works as a software engineer and studied at BIT Mesra.
Political observers believe his entry could fill a leadership gap in JD(U). Both Nitish Kumar and Sanjay Jha may soon represent the party in the Rajya Sabha.
Some analysts speculate that Nishant Kumar may take a key role in the party’s state leadership.

Political Shift in Bihar
Nishant Kumar’s entry also signals a change in Nitish Kumar’s earlier stance on dynastic politics.
Experts say the move could reshape the leadership structure of JD(U) and influence Bihar’s political landscape.
