The Uttarakhand government on Thursday renamed the Government Nursing College Dobh (Shrikot), Pauri in memory of late Ankita Bhandari.
The decision followed direct instructions from Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Government Issues Official Order
The Secretary of Medical Health and Medical Education, Dr R. Rajesh Kumar, issued the official order for the name change.
As a result, the institute will now be called Late Ankita Bhandari Government Nursing College Dobh (Shrikot), Pauri.
CM Reiterates Support to Victim’s Family
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dhami recently met Ankita Bhandari’s parents and assured them of full support.
He clearly stated that the government will ensure swift, lawful, and impartial justice.
Moreover, he said that standing with the victim’s family remains a top priority for the state.
CM Reviews Development Works in Dehradun
At the same time, CM Dhami reviewed ongoing development projects in Dehradun district.
During a meeting at the Manthan Auditorium, he directed departments to complete road construction in a coordinated manner.
Therefore, officials must finish underground electricity, water, and gas works within fixed timelines.
Focus on Planning and Road Maintenance
Additionally, the Chief Minister asked departments to list proposed works in advance.
He instructed the District Magistrate, Dehradun, to approve projects only after a clear action plan is prepared.
Furthermore, he stressed the importance of maintaining internal roads.
Verification Drives and Anti-Encroachment Action
The Chief Minister also ordered regular verification of Ayushman cards, ration cards, family registers, and electricity bills.
Consequently, authorities will cancel wrongly issued documents and take strict action against offenders.
In addition, CM Dhami directed continuous anti-encroachment drives by the district administration and civic bodies.
Emphasis on Transparency and Public Welfare
Moreover, the Chief Minister said improved road connectivity has boosted tourism and public movement in Dehradun.
Looking ahead, he asked officials to accelerate development projects after consulting public representatives.
Under the programme “Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar,” officials must resolve public grievances on the spot.
Finally, CM Dhami reiterated that transparency, timeliness, and public welfare remain the government’s core priorities.
