Dehradun, March 16: Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed appointment letters to newly selected Sanitation Inspectors under the Municipal Centralised Service during a ceremony in Dehradun on Monday.
During the event, the Chief Minister congratulated the newly appointed officials and encouraged them to work with dedication to keep Uttarakhand clean and well-maintained.
Cleanliness Important for Tourism in Uttarakhand
While addressing the gathering, CM Dhami highlighted the importance of cleanliness in a tourism-driven state like Uttarakhand.
He said that the state welcomes a large number of pilgrims and tourists every year. Therefore, maintaining cleanliness across cities and pilgrimage routes is essential.
Dhami urged the sanitation inspectors to take responsibility and ensure that public places remain clean and hygienic.
He also stressed that a clean environment will enhance the overall experience of visitors coming to the state.
Preparations for Kumbh Mela and Char Dham Yatra
The Chief Minister also spoke about upcoming major religious events in Uttarakhand. He said the state must prepare for the Kumbh Mela in 2027 and the annual Char Dham Yatra.
According to Dhami, maintaining cleanliness during these large gatherings will be a major responsibility for sanitation officials.
He expressed confidence that the newly appointed inspectors would carry out their duties sincerely.
CM Dhami Congratulates UPSC Achievers
Earlier, CM Dhami also congratulated three candidates from Uttarakhand who successfully cleared the prestigious Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination.
The Chief Minister met Shambhavi Tiwari from Kichha, Priya Chauhan from Kashipur, and Soumya Garbyal from Bhimtal at his residence in Nagla Tarai.
He praised their hard work and dedication and said their success brings pride to their families and the entire state.
Recognition for Mountaineering Achievement
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also honoured Lata Bisht, District Tourism Development Officer, for leading a successful mountaineering expedition.
She guided the team that climbed Mount Chandra Bhaga-13 (6,264 meters) and Mount Chandra Bhaga-14 (6,074 meters) during an expedition organised by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation in New Delhi.
CM Dhami presented her with a shawl and a certificate of appreciation in recognition of the achievement.
