New Delhi, March 17, 2026: Union Minister Piyush Goyal will move a proposal to withdraw the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025 in the Lok Sabha today. The move comes during the ongoing Budget Session 2026-27 in Parliament.
Jan Vishwas Bill to Be Withdrawn
The government introduced the Jan Vishwas Bill in 2025 to decriminalise minor offences and improve ease of doing business. Now, the Centre plans to withdraw the Bill to make further amendments based on recommendations by the Select Committee.
The revised approach aims to strengthen trust-based governance and simplify regulatory frameworks.
Key Agenda in Lok Sabha Today
The Lok Sabha will focus on important financial discussions during the second phase of the Budget Session. Members will take up:
- Voting on Demands for Grants (2026-27)
- Discussions on key ministries including:
- Ministry of Railways
- Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare
