Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roadshow in Dehradun on Tuesday ahead of the inauguration of the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor. A large number of people gathered along the route to welcome him.

Crowds lined the streets during the roadshow. Supporters waved flags and greeted the Prime Minister as his convoy passed through the city. The event drew strong public participation and created a festive atmosphere in Dehradun.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also held a roadshow in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Upcoming Inauguration of Economic Corridor
The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor later today at a public event in Dehradun. He will also address a gathering during the program.
The corridor spans 213 kilometres and connects Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Authorities developed the six-lane access-controlled expressway at a cost of over ₹12,000 crore.
Focus on Infrastructure and Connectivity
The expressway includes multiple interchanges, railway overbridges, and major bridges. These features aim to ensure smooth and high-speed travel.
Officials have also installed an advanced traffic management system on the route. This system will monitor traffic conditions and improve road safety. Travellers will benefit from better traffic flow and reduced congestion.
Wildlife Protection Measures in the Project
The project includes several features to protect wildlife in the region. Authorities designed the corridor to reduce human-animal conflict.
The expressway includes a 12-kilometre wildlife corridor on an elevated section in Saharanpur. It is among the longest in Asia. The project also includes eight animal passes and two elephant underpasses.
Engineers constructed a 370-metre tunnel near the Daat Kali Temple to preserve the surrounding environment.
Temple Visit and Official Schedule
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the Jai Maa Daat Kali Temple during his visit. He will offer prayers before attending the inauguration event.
Officials stated that the project aims to improve connectivity between key cities and support regional development.
