Authorities in Tehri Garhwal have stepped up preparations for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra. To improve coordination and safety, the administration has divided the district into three super zones.
Senior Superintendent of Police Shweta Chaubey confirmed that officers of Deputy Superintendent rank will supervise each zone. Since the district covers one of the largest travel routes, officials have adopted this structured plan.
Security Planning Across Zones
In addition to the super zones, the administration has created 11 zones and 30 sectors. Police teams now cover all areas. Before deployment, officers received detailed briefings about their duties.
As a result, authorities expect better crowd control and faster response during emergencies. Moreover, this system will help maintain order across busy routes.
Focus on Pilgrim Safety
Officials have issued clear instructions on how personnel should interact with pilgrims. Since devotees arrive from across India and abroad, respectful behaviour remains a priority.
At the same time, police teams will assist visitors at different points along the route. They will also provide guidance whenever required.
First-Aid Training for Police
To strengthen emergency response, the administration has trained police personnel in basic first aid. Therefore, officers can offer immediate help in case of health issues or accidents.
Such preparedness becomes important, especially in remote and hilly areas where quick assistance matters.
Rising Registrations for Yatra
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj shared updated registration figures. The total has reached nearly 1.8 million, reflecting strong public interest.
Notably, Kedarnath and Badrinath have recorded the highest numbers. In addition, Yamunotri and Gangotri have also seen steady participation.
Facilities and Supplies Assured
The government has arranged essential services for pilgrims. For instance, authorities have secured supplies of cooking gas and food for the entire duration of the yatra.
Furthermore, officials assured that devotees will not face shortages. This step aims to ensure a comfortable and smooth journey.
CM Dhami Reviews Preparations
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has personally reviewed the arrangements. Recently, he inspected the Kedarnath Highway and nearby areas.
During the visit, he examined infrastructure and facilities. He also expressed confidence that the state is fully prepared to welcome pilgrims.
Improved Safety and Traffic Management
Authorities have also focused on strengthening safety measures. For example, officials have planned better traffic control systems and improved emergency medical services.
In addition, a review meeting addressed safety along narrow mountain roads and forest routes. These steps aim to reduce risks and ensure smooth travel.
Yatra to Begin on April 23
The Char Dham Yatra will begin on April 23. Thousands of devotees are expected to visit Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.
With preparations complete, authorities expect a well-managed pilgrimage this year. Overall, Uttarakhand stands ready to host pilgrims with improved systems, stronger security, and better facilities.
