Ranchi, Jharkhand, August 10: JPSC JSSC exam irregularities triggered a major student protest in Ranchi on Monday, as Jharkhand Police used water cannons against protesters attempting to break through barricades during a Vidhan Sabha Gherao march.
A large number of students gathered near the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha under the banner of the JPSC-JSSC Reform Morcha. The protesters were demanding action over alleged irregularities in examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (JSSC-CGL).

Carrying a portrait of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren, Mahto said that the presence of barbed-wire barricades would not stop the protesters.
