In a significant moment for India’s military leadership, General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has been inducted into the prestigious International Hall of Fame at the US Army War College in Pennsylvania, United States.
With this honour, General Dwivedi becomes the third Indian Army Chief to receive this recognition, following General V K Singh and General Bikram Singh.

The International Hall of Fame at the US Army War College recognises distinguished military leaders who have made exceptional contributions to defence, leadership, and global security cooperation.
General Dwivedi, an alumnus of the institution and a USAWC Distinguished Fellow, was honoured during his official visit to the United States.
The Indian Army, in a statement, highlighted that this recognition reflects his leadership excellence and strategic contributions.

During his visit, General Dwivedi addressed faculty members and international officers at the college.
His speech focused on:

General Dwivedi’s visit is part of broader efforts to enhance defence cooperation between India and United States.
Earlier in the week, he was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour at Fort Shafter, Hawaii, during his visit to the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC).
He held key discussions with General Ronald P. Clark and other senior military leaders.
These discussions focused on:
- Strengthening bilateral defence cooperation
- Enhancing joint operational readiness
- Promoting peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region
Strategic Engagements in Indo-Pacific
As part of his visit, the COAS also undertook an aerial tour of Oahu Island, gaining insights into advanced US military training systems and multi-domain operations.

Ahead of his key meetings in Washington DC, General Dwivedi was hosted by Vinay Mohan Kwatra at India House.
The Indian Embassy described the visit as part of ongoing high-level military-to-military exchanges between the two nations.
