New Delhi, March 7: Security has been increased in Uttam Nagar, Delhi, after a 25-year-old man died following a clash during Holi celebrations earlier this week. Police have arrested four people in connection with the incident.
The deceased, identified as Tarun, suffered serious injuries during the altercation and later died while undergoing treatment.
Clash Reported During Holi Celebrations
According to Delhi Police, the incident took place on March 4 during Holi celebrations in the Uttam Nagar area.
A dispute reportedly broke out between neighbours from different communities. The argument quickly escalated into a physical fight, leaving Tarun critically injured.
Doctors treated him at a hospital for several days, but he later succumbed to his injuries.
Four Accused Arrested by Police
Delhi Police launched an investigation soon after the incident. Officers arrested four suspects in connection with the clash.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing and more details may emerge as the inquiry continues.
Heavy Security Deployed in Uttam Nagar
Police have strengthened security arrangements in Uttam Nagar to prevent further tension in the area.
Kushal Pal Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for the Dwarka district, said officers have divided the locality into zones, sectors, and sub-sectors for better monitoring.
Police teams are also conducting continuous patrols using motorcycles and vehicles.
Police Appeal for Peace
Delhi Police have also reached out to local residents from both communities to maintain calm.
DCP Singh urged people not to spread or believe rumours.
“We have appealed to residents from both communities to maintain peace and order. People should not pay attention to rumours or support those who try to create trouble,” he said.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure law and order in the area.
