Cologny (Switzerland), January 17:
US President Donald Trump will attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Switzerland.
The World Economic Forum confirmed the news on X. It also recalled that President Trump addressed the forum in 2025, just three days after his inauguration. His participation in WEF 2026 is expected to attract global attention.
The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 will take place from January 19 to January 23. During this time, global leaders will gather to discuss major international challenges. Leaders from government, business, civil society, and academia will take part.
This year’s summit carries the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue.” The forum will focus on cooperation in a divided world. In addition, it will highlight innovation-led growth and inclusive development.
Moreover, the programme will address five major global challenges. These challenges require strong public-private cooperation. Growth, resilience, and innovation will guide all discussions throughout the event.
According to the WEF, nearly 3,000 leaders from over 130 countries will attend. This makes WEF 2026 one of the largest gatherings in the forum’s history. The event will include around 400 senior political leaders and nearly 65 heads of state or government. Furthermore, six G7 leaders will also participate.
Besides political leaders, heads of major international organisations will join the discussions. These include Antonio Guterres from the United Nations, Kristalina Georgieva from the International Monetary Fund, and Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus from the World Health Organization.
Overall, the summit aims to promote dialogue and cooperation. It will also help leaders address global economic, geopolitical, technological, and social challenges through shared solutions.
