President Droupadi Murmu visited the sacred Danghati Temple and offered prayers on Saturday. During her visit, she also undertook the holy Govardhan Parikrama, an important spiritual ritual in Hindu tradition.
Darshan, Aarti and Sacred Rituals
The President performed:
- Darshan and Aarti at Danghati Temple
- Govardhan Parikrama around the sacred Govardhan Hill
- Prayers at Mansi Ganga
Her visit highlighted the spiritual significance of Mathura, a major religious destination in India.
Sapling Planted on International Day of Forests
On the occasion of International Day of Forests, President Murmu planted a sapling during her parikrama, promoting environmental awareness and sustainability.
Visit to Vrindavan and Meeting with Saints
Earlier, the President visited Vrindavan, where she:
- Met revered saint Premanand Maharaj at Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj Ashram
- Offered prayers at the samadhi of Baba Neem Karoli Ji
She was accompanied by Anandiben Patel during the visit.
Recent Visit to Ayodhya
Before Mathura and Vrindavan, President Murmu also visited Ayodhya, where she:
- Had darshan of Ram Lalla at Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Temple
- Performed aarti and religious rituals
- Participated in Shri Ram Yantra Sthapana and Pujan
She described the visit as a “blessed and spiritual experience”, especially during the beginning of Navratri.
