Authorities in Rudraprayag have completed extensive preparations for the upcoming Kedarnath Yatra. The district administration has introduced a high-tech monitoring system to ensure the safety and smooth movement of pilgrims during the annual pilgrimage.
Officials confirmed that a dedicated control room will monitor the entire yatra route, starting from Gaurikund and extending up to the Kedarnath Temple. This initiative aims to strengthen surveillance and improve coordination among authorities.
Advanced Surveillance System Installed
To enhance security, the administration has installed modern 360-degree cameras at key points along the trekking route. These cameras will provide real-time visuals to officials stationed at the central control room.
In addition, around 90 additional surveillance cameras have been deployed across the Kedarnath highway and the temple premises. Authorities stated that these cameras will help track crowd movement, identify potential risks, and respond quickly to emergencies.

24/7 Control Room for Real-Time Monitoring

He confirmed that multiple control rooms have been set up across districts involved in the pilgrimage. Each control room will function 24 hours a day and coordinate closely with field officers.
Mishra also highlighted the installation of approximately 90 cameras across highways, trekking routes, and the temple area. He added that officials can even guide pilgrims directly through the announcement system.
According to him, these high-quality systems will significantly improve management and contribute to the successful completion of the yatra.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Reviews Arrangements
Earlier, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed preparations for the Char Dham Yatra. He conducted an on-ground inspection of the Kedarnath highway and nearby areas.
During his visit, Dhami expressed confidence in the state’s readiness. He stated that authorities are closely monitoring all arrangements related to the pilgrimage.
The Chief Minister said that the government has ensured proper facilities for pilgrims arriving from across India and abroad. He added that the administration is fully prepared to handle the expected rush.
