Dehradun, March 20: The Uttarakhand government will expand its cabinet today. Five new ministers are likely to take oath at Lok Bhavan in Dehradun.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will attend the ceremony. Governor Gurmeet Singh will administer the oath to the new ministers.
Cabinet Expansion After Long Wait
The state cabinet had five vacant positions for months. The government has now decided to fill them.
Party leaders reviewed the performance of MLAs before finalizing names. Senior leaders also held multiple discussions with the central leadership.
More Appointments Expected
The government may appoint more than two dozen leaders as “Daitvadhari.” These roles are similar to Ministers of State.
These appointments will help improve governance and coordination across departments.
Health Update of Satpal Maharaj
Chief Minister Dhami visited AIIMS Rishikesh on Thursday. He checked on the health of Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj.
Doctors admitted Maharaj to the ICU after a minor health issue. Officials confirmed that his condition is now stable.
A doctor said, “His vitals are normal. He is recovering well.”
Political Importance
This cabinet expansion is politically important. It may strengthen the government and improve administrative efficiency.
The move may also prepare the party for upcoming political challenges.
