Dehradun, March 20: The State Emergency Operations Centre Uttarakhand has issued a snowfall and avalanche alert for several high-altitude districts in Uttarakhand.
Authorities have directed district administrations to remain on high alert due to the risk of avalanches and heavy snowfall.

The warning applies to the following districts:
- Uttarkashi
- Chamoli
- Rudraprayag
- Pithoragarh
- Bageshwar
Avalanche Risk Levels
According to inputs from Defence Geoinformation Research Establishment:
- Danger Level 3 (High Risk): Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh
- Danger Level 1 (Low Risk): Rudraprayag, Bageshwar
Officials warned that heavy snowfall in these areas could trigger sudden avalanches or structural collapses.
Time Period of Alert
The alert remains in effect from March 20 evening to March 21 evening, covering peak snowfall risk hours in high-altitude regions.
